Was born in 1967 and studied BA(hons) Fine Art at Manchester Polytechnic from
1987-1990, specialising in printmaking. She completed a postgraduate Diploma in
Fine Art at Glasgow School of Art in 1991 and an MA in Printmaking at the Royal
College of Art 1994-1996, where she was also appointed as the first Digital Fine
Art Fellow from 1996-7. Between 1999 and 2000 she took up a one-year post as
Research fellow in Photography, Video and Digital Media at the University of
Sunderland, the work from which was selected and included in EAST international
2000. Between 2000 and 2004 Veronique was appointed as Senior Lecturer in Fine
Art at the University of Lincoln, where she was responsible for the provision
and teaching of printmaking and digital and lens media. She is currently
completing a practice led PhD at Goldsmith's College, where she has also taught
on the B.A.(joint hons) Fine Art and History of Art Programme. An Associate
Lecturer at Wimbledon College of Art, she is also Project Mentor for a new
Artist in Residence professional practice programme at Morley College, Lambeth,
South London.
Veronique has exhibited work both nationally and internationally, recently taking part in a group exhibition in Seoul, Korea for which she received a British Council Travel Award. Working mainly in photography, sculpture and video installation her work also combines aspects of live and recorded performance with an interest in the representation of physical exercise. Current work in progress investigates the use of mobile wearable camera technologies to record and transmit a live durational run.
Although her work combines many disciplines, her approach she insists, is informed by her early background and formation in printmaking and for this reason she is delighted to have been invited to become a member of the Print Research Network UK.
